The NHL has unveiled a new mascot, a Vietnamese girl named “Linda” who has gained a fan following among fans.
The NHL announced on Twitter that the team has selected the “Lambda” as the mascot for the upcoming season.
The first image released of the new mascot shows Linda holding a Vietnamese flag, with the caption “The League is proud to have a new and talented member of our team.”
Fans have also praised the team for the choice of a “young, enthusiastic and vibrant new member” to be the mascot.
“We are thrilled to be working with the League on this new and exciting new member,” NHL Vice President of Communications Tom Power said.
“Lingana’s bright smile, playful personality and contagious personality are sure to be a joy to watch and play with.”
The first three images of the mascot were released on Instagram and Twitter and are in the public domain.
The League has not yet announced a date for the first game.
